The number specifically identifying the specific Credit Card Account, it is embossed on the front of a Credit Card.

How does Credit Card Account Number work?

The first six digits of the number are Bank Identification Number, which identifies the Bank or Payment Institution which issued the card. The last digit is an assurance digit which is used to detect errors. The remaining 9 digits represent the individual Account number assigned to a Customer. The Credit Card Account Number is usually prominently embossed on the front of a Payment card, and is encoded on the magnetic stripe and chip.
